Longleaf Elementary has been named a Participating School by the MAC (Mississippi Arts Commission). We have many professional development opportunities for our teachers to attend. We will be integrating arts in our classroom and throughout the school to allow our students to deepen their knowledge and learning experiences.

Fairy Tales



Longleaf second grade students had lots of fun participating in a fairy tales project! First, they read several fairy tales. Then they compared and contrasted the different versions of Cinderella. The students learned the components of a fairy tale, and then wrote their own fairy tale. They presented the fairy tale with props they made. I love how these teachers combined drama, visual arts, and writing!
