Longleaf Elementary has been named a Participating School by the MAC (Mississippi Arts Commission). We have many professional development opportunities for our teachers to attend. We will be integrating arts in our classroom and throughout the school to allow our students to deepen their knowledge and learning experiences.

Famous People Sculptures

Mrs. Blackmon's Excel students created these awesome sculptures! They researched a famous person then used that information to create a sculpture that resembled that person! They used water bottles, wire, and various materials to create each one-of-a-kind sculpture. I think the kids did an excellent job of giving their sculptures lots of details and personality!

Famous Americans

Longleaf kindergarten students learned about famous Americans last week! The children learned about the lives of these famous Americans, and how these people contributed to our society. They used this information as their inspiration to create works of art!
