Longleaf Elementary has been named a Participating School by the MAC (Mississippi Arts Commission). We have many professional development opportunities for our teachers to attend. We will be integrating arts in our classroom and throughout the school to allow our students to deepen their knowledge and learning experiences.

Lauren Rogers Museum of Art Visits Longleaf

Longleaf second graders received a visit from Lauren Rogers Museum of Art! Representatives from this museum helped the kids create beautiful flowers for their moms! The students used watercolors to create their masterpieces. Then they wrote about the ways their moms are special! I'm sure all the moms loved receiving this special Mother's Day gift!  Thank you Mrs. Collen for arranging this visit! 

If you have never visited Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, you are missing out! This is a wonderful museum located in Laurel, MS! Since Laurel is my hometown, I have visited the museum many times.
