Longleaf Elementary has been named a Participating School by the MAC (Mississippi Arts Commission). We have many professional development opportunities for our teachers to attend. We will be integrating arts in our classroom and throughout the school to allow our students to deepen their knowledge and learning experiences.

Lighting of Longleaf

The 3rd Annual Lighting of Longleaf was a huge success this year! Lighting of Longleaf is a Christmas tradition at Longleaf Elementary. The night is full of fun things for Longleaf families to do! We had yummy food (thanks Coke and Chick-fil-a), hot chocolate, and vendor booths. AND…Santa came! However, the musical performances were the highlight of the night! Each grade performed songs for family and friends! Also, Longleaf's very first show choir, "Limelight," made their debut performance!

I'm so thankful to be a part of a school with such wonderful traditions! Loving Longleaf!

Our fabulous music teacher, Mrs. Timidaiski!

Each student made an ornament! These were displayed on trees at the front of the school.

A Precious Keepsake! This was our (the teachers) gift to the families of Longleaf.  We hope that the families will remember this night each time they place the ornament on their tree.

The kids loved talking to Santa! Thanks Paul Sanford for being such a wonderful Santa!

We had lots of wonderful vendors selling some pretty awesome stuff!

Of course, the food was great! Nachos, Chick-fil-a, Coke, and hot chocolate! The sweet shop goodies were donated by Longleaf parents!

The Coke Truck was beautiful!

Thank you everyone who made Lighting of Longleaf a success!!!

Limelight's First Performance

Longleaf Elementary's show choir, "Limelight," lit up the stage during their first performance at Lighting of Longleaf! This group of 26 fifth grade students is under the direction of Jennifer Timidaiski and Jennifer Craft. The group performed two songs from their competition show entitled "Light Up the World." The group will compete in the Purvis Invitational in February.

Good Job, Limelight!
